Scholastic Book Club – Homeschool
Did you know that homeschoolers can take advantage of the Scholastic Book Club? If you have any experience with the traditional school setting, then you may remember those paper flyers that got sent home every so often, or the book fairs that were set up in the library. Now, this exciting (and, of course, educational) experience is available for all students, even homeschoolers. Here’s how!
What is Scholastic Book Club?
Scholastic Book Club is a long-standing company whose primary goal is to help children discover and cherish the joy of reading. They use a panel of scholastic editors and literacy experts to handpick the titles you’ll find in each month’s catalog.
There are a number of book selections for every grade – from preschool through high school – that match the various interests and reading levels of individual students.
The books in the catalogs are affordable, and you can earn points for each book order. You can use those points to get freebies and discounts for future purchases!

Can homeschoolers use Scholastic Book Club?
Short answer: Absolutely! Longer answer per their website:
“If you are an official homeschool with a curriculum and your child does not attend or is associated with a different school; a home school account may be requested.”
In most states, homeschool is considered by law to be a private school. This means you have every right to take advantage of educational resources (and discounts) that are typically offered to public and/or private schools, teachers, and parents. If you haven’t considered it yet, now is the time to utilize your ability to receive educator discounts and join programs like the Scholastic Book Club.
