Hi! I’m Tanya- a mom of two sweet kiddos, and a wife to a hard-working, best-dad-ever husband.
I have a background in elementary education with a specialization in reading. Before having kids, I taught at a charter school in Milwaukee. I was an intervention teacher for kids in Kindergarten through 8th grade. After doing that for a few years I switched over to teaching 2nd grade. Although I loved the time I spent teaching children in the classroom, I also had a front row seat to all the limitations of traditional schooling.
When we grew our family, I decided to stay home. As I watched my babies grow, I realized that I wanted something different for them. I wanted them to learn through adventures, play and exploration. I wanted them to develop critical thinking skills and become confident individuals without the pressure of “fitting in” or not performing well enough. And I wanted to be with them as they did it. Homeschooling my littles for their preschool years has been such a joy.
If you are a parent and are beginning your homeschool journey, or you’ve already been at it for a while and need some fresh ideas, or maybe you need some encouragement, because some days are just HARD…you’re in the right place.
Grab a cup of coffee and stay for a bit. Homeschooling is just easier when you are not doing it alone!
